Arsalan Razani
Professor of Mechanical Engineering
Arsalan
Razani is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering
(ASME) with more than 30 years of research experience in the areas
of thermal science and engineering, including heat transfer, thermodynamics,
energy system optimization, and radiation transport calculations.
For seven years he has conducted research on modeling and optimization
of hydride heat pumps, including heat and mass transfer of hydrogen
in metal hydride reactors. He has collaborated for five years with
Sandia National Laboratories on the design of pyrotechnic actuators
along with combustion and ignition of pyrotechnic materials. He
has also been involved in research on heat transfer under periodically
varying conditions, as well as heat transfer enhancement techniques
and electronic cooling. He has conducted research on second law
analysis and optimization of energy systems and recently performed
research on modeling, optimization, and characterization of cryogenic
refrigerators.
