Department of Mechanical Engineering seeking applications for chair

The UNM Department of Mechanical Engineering has opened a search for a department chair with a start date of summer 2024.

A Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or a related field is required with expertise in areas such as (but not limited to) renewable energy, aerospace engineering, intelligent manufacturing, cyber-physical systems, mechatronics, fluid, thermal, solid mechanics and bioengineering.

The applicant should have a recognized stature in mechanical engineering and an outstanding record in funded research, teaching and service commensurate with appointment as a tenured full professor. Prior administrative experience is desirable.
